Benefication of Turkish feldspars by flotation methods
Abstract
Turkish feldspars containing some amounts of mineral phases bearing iron and titanium impurities have been studied by the flotation benefication method. On the benefication experiments with the potassium feldspar, the best condition were obtained by using a sulphonate type collector-R840 with 3 stage flotation. Fe2O3 content was decreased from 0.49% to 0.23% and TiO2 content was increased from 0.06% to 0.04%. K2O content was increased from 8.66% up to 9.82% and Na2O content from 2.32% to 2.73%. On the benefication experiments with the sodium feldspar, the best condition was obtained by using sodium oleate collector with 3-stage flotation. TiO2 content was decreased from 0.55% to 0.23% and Fe2O3 content from 0.17% to 0.13%. Na2O content decreased from 10.39% to 8.80% and K2O content from 0.90 to 0.63%.
