Acoustic performance study for the grand hall of atatürk culture and art center at Anadolu University
Özet
Economic requirements, has emerged the usage of multi-purpose hall, where more than one function can be performed for reasons such as land use due to rapid change in social structure, diversity of the performing arts etc. Therefore, acoustical design of these halls must be qualified to respond the acoustical requirements for speech and music functions. In this respect, acoustical analyses and evaluations of The Grand Hall of Atatürk Culture and Art Center At Anadolu University that has been used as a multi-purpose hall (serving for concert, conference, theatre and performing arts), were realized as a research project. The current acoustical conditions of the hall were determined objectively by the measurements of room acoustic parameters and subjectively survey on-site. According to the room acoustic analysis, proposals have been developed for the hall through the acoustical modeling software, in order to improve acoustic comfort conditions in accordance with the regulations in Turkey and international standards. In this paper, the current acoustical conditions of the hall based on the acoustical measurements and one of the acoustic design proposals, which has been initially developed for application that can be actualized by university, are explained in detail
