Flotation of magnesite with sodium oleate and oleic acid as collector; an infrared spectrophotometric study
Abstract
Infrared spectra studies were carried out in order to interpret and elucidate the adsorption mechanism in the magnesite flotation; also froth flotation tests were carried out. Infrared spectrophotometry studies indicated that RCOO ion was chemically adsorbed on the surface of magnesite while it was physically adsorbed on the surface of serpentine. Magnesite-serpentine separation was performed applying the froth flotation method, and magnesite was concentrated in the float fraction. (A)
