Okul ortamında değerler eğitimi konusunda öğretmen ve öğrenci görüşleri

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı bir ilköğretim okulu ortamında değerler eğitimi konusunda öğretmenlerin ve öğrencilerin görüşlerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma verilerinin top- lanmasında nitel ve nicel araştırma yöntemleri birlikte kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonu- cunda öğretmenlere göre okulda kazandırılmaya çalışılan temel değerlerin sevgi, saygı, hoşgörü, dayanışma ve sorumluluk olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenler değerler eğitimi- ne yönelik olarak değerlerin öğretim süreci, okul personeli ve okul-aile-toplum işbirliği konularında öneriler getirmişlerdir. Öğrenciler okullarında en çok dürüstlük değerinin kazandırılmaya çalışıldığını düşünmektedirler. Öğrencilerin okulun temizliği ve sınıf kurallarının oluşturulması konusundaki maddelere ise daha düşük oranda katıldıkları belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen sonuçlara dayalı olarak okullarda değerler eğiti- mi konusunda öğretmen ve öğrencilerin beklenti ve görüşlerinin karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmesi, okullarda bu doğrultuda düzenlemeler yapılması önerilebilir.

The purpose of this study is to determine teacher and student views about valu- es education at a primary school setting. Qualitative and quantitative research methods were used together in collecting research data. As a result of the study, it was found out that teachers think that the basic values that are tried to be gained at school are love, respect, tolerance, cooperation and responsibility. Teachers made suggestions about values education on issues like the process of teaching the values and cooperation between school staff and school-family- community. Students think that mostly the value of honesty is tried to be gained at their schools. It was found out that students agreed on the items regarding the neatness of school and establishing classroom rules at a lower degree. Based on the results obtained from the study, it can be suggested that student and teac- her expectations and views on values education at schools should be examined comparatively and in line with this, arrangements should be made at schools.
