(ACG Publications, 2016)A detailed analysis of Prangos pabularia Lindl. (Apiaceae) fruit oil was performed by gas chromatography (GC-FID) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Bicyclogermacrene (21%), (Z)-ß-ocimene (19%), ?-humulene ... -
Identification of volatile aroma compounds of strawberry wine using solid-phase microextraction techniques coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry
(Wiley, 2006)Aroma compounds of strawberry wine were trapped by both headspace (HS) and immersion (IM) solid-phase microextraction (SPME). In the strawberry wine, esters were found to be the major compounds detected by both techniques. ... -
Identification of Volatile Compounds and Antimicrobial Activities of Muscari Neglectum Growing in Turkey
(Parlar Scientific Publications (PSP), 2018)The absolute essential oils obtained from the bulbs and the aerial parts of M. neglectum collected from Kahramanmaras (Turkey) were analysed by GC-FID and GC-MS. In GC-MS analyses, 17 components comprising 100% of the ... -
The imidazoline receptors and ligands in pain modulations
(Wolters Kluwer Medknow Publications, 2015)Pain is an unpleasant experience and effects daily routine negatively. Although there are various drugs, many of them are not entirely successful in relieving pain, since pain modulation is a complex process involving ... -
Immobilization of beta-galactosidase onto magnetic poly(GMA-MMA) beads for hydrolysis of lactose in bed reactor
(Elsevier Science BV, 2007)In the present study, novel magnetic beads were prepared from glycidylmethacrylate and methylmethacrylate via suspension polymerization in the presence of a cross-linker (i.e. ethylenedimethylmethacrylate). The magnetic ... -

In the present work, Microsteam distillation - Solid phase microextraction (MSD-SPME) and hydrodistillation (HD) techniques were applied to obtain volatiles from Achillea sivasica, an endemic species from Turkey. GC-FID and GC/MS analysis revealed that 1,8-cineole (22.1%) and ?-pinene (9.3%) were the main constituents of the hydrodistilled flower volatiles. (Z)-?-Farnesene (23.9%), decanoic acid (10.1%), ??eudesmol (8.0%), tricosane (7.3%) and hexadecanoic acid (7.2%) were the main volatiles obtained from flowers by MSDSPME. The leaf volatiles obtained by HD contained camphor (9.0%), ?-pinene (6.9%), 1,8-cineole (6.7%), ?-pinene (6.7%) and??-bisabolol (6.6%) as the main constituents while the leaf volatiles obtained by MSD-SPME technique were rich in (E)-geranyl acetone (10.5%), (E)-?-ionone (10.3%), camphor (10.2%), 1,8-cineole (9.6%), longiverbenone (7.9%), ?-eudesmol (7.5%), isopropyl myristate (6.7%) and epi-?-bisabolol (6.4%).
