dc.description.abstract | Reliability and productivity calculations for multi-stage production flow lines with intermediate storage units are extremely complex. When scheduled maintenance is performed on production machines, the resulting models defy analytical solution. This paper describes a computer simulation approach to estimating line productivity and the effect of storage unit capacity. The simulation program utilizes a mathematical model and statistical procedures for testing the reliability of simulation results. | en_US |
