Electrode optimization for direct methanol fuel cells
Abstract
In this study, the Taguchi method was used to optimize the structural combination of electrode constituents of a direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC). The variance analysis was also performed in order to determine the optimum level of electrode constituents and relative magnitude of the effect of combinations. Results showed that most effective parameters in obtaining maximum performance from a DMFC electrode were ranked to the least as amount of anode catalyst, type of carbon support and amount of cathode catalyst.
