Removal of unwanted hair using continuous wave diode laser system
Abstract
There is a general agreement that hair removal success using laser systems is always affected by the region of the body. The reported low response on the upper lip region has lead this group of researchers to investigate the efficacy of the diode laser on this specific region. The challenge associated with the use of laser treatment for dark skin and hair was also within the scope of this study. The optimization of the diode laser system using selected parameters to remove hair at a physician's office was evaluated considering the clinical efficiency and safety. As a result of the study, diode laser-assisted hair removal after two treatments using the selected parameters was found to be efficacious and safe upon 1-year evaluation.
