Abstract
Increasing number of the cells, results of excess divicing of the cells, is balanced by apoptosis which causes elimination of old cells and unfunctional cells. Apoptosis is a programmed cell death obtaining this balance. In our age lots of used chemoterapeutic's target is to increase cancer cell's apoptosis. Therefore MBİS1, MBİS2 ve MBİS8 were used to investigate apoptotic and cytotoxic effects on both C2 and CO25 cell lines. These findings showed that MBİS8 and MBİS1 had cytotoxic effects respectively 0.01 mg/ml and 0.1 mg/ml doses in CO25 cell line. Also acridine orange/ethidium bromide method which is used to determine morphological changes in apoptotic cells showed that 0.05 mg/ml and 0.1 mg/ml MBİS1 and MBİS8 were effective on CO25 cells after 8 and 24 hour incubation. However neither MBİS1 nor MBİS8 showed any early apoptotic cell on C2 and CO25 cell lines at the end of the 24 hour incubation time. Likewise DNA ladder pattern which is determinant of late apoptosis was not appear in CO25 cells. Except proving some apoptotic cells morphologically, the stimulation of cells by either MBİS1 or MBİS8 did not cause any other apoptotic changes.
