Haklarımız Var: Çocukların Gözünden Çocuk Hakları

Abstract

Çocuk hakları, çocukların doğuştan sahip olduğu onları koruma altına alan haklardır. Bu hakların uygulamaya konulabilmesi öncelikle çocukların haklarını bilmesi ile yakından ilişkilidir. Ayrıca çocuk hakları çocukların yaş, cinsiyet, sosyoekonomik durum gibi değişkenlerden etkilenmektedir. Bu bağlamda, bu araştırmanın amacı farklı sosyoekonomik düzeylerden gelen çocukların çocuk haklarına ilişkin algılarını onların kendi yazılı ifadeleriyle ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma, katılan öğrencilerin çeşitliliğini yansıtmak amacıyla alt, orta ve üst sosyoekonomik düzeydeki okullarda 91 öğrencinin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler doküman incelemesi yoluyla toplanmış, analizinde içerik analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada bulgular sosyoekonomik durumlar dikkate alınarak sunulmuştur. Çocuğa ilişkin algılar, çocuk haklarının içeriğine ilişkin algılar, çocuk haklarına ilişkin yaşanan sorunlar ve çözüm önerileri araştırmada ortaya çıkan temalardır. Araştırmada öğrencilerin çocuğu gelecekle ilişkilendirdikleri görülmüştür. Tüm sosyoekonomik düzeydeki öğrencilerin çocuk hakları bağlamında eğitim hakkına vurgu yaptıkları ve yaşanan sorunlarda farklı yaşam koşullarını ön plana çıkardıkları görülmüştür. Ayrıca yine tüm sosyoekonomik düzeydeki öğrenciler eğitim görme konusunda öneride bulunmuşlardır

Children's rights are the rights that children have starting from birth and take them under protection. The implementation of these rights is closely related to children's knowing about their rights. Besides, children's rights are affected by variables such as age, gender and socioeconomic level. In this regard, the aim of this study was to examine the perceptions of children in different socioeconomic levels on their rights based on their written statements. The study was conducted using qualitative research method. Maximum variation sampling was employed. The study was carried out in schools located in regions in low, middle and high socioeconomic level to reflect students' variation with the participation of 91 students. The data were gathered through documentary analysis, and content analysis technique was used to analyze the data. The findings were presented based on the socioeconomic levels. The themes revealed in the study were perceptions related to children, perceptions related to children's rights, problems regarding children's rights, and solutions. In the study, it was observed that the students associated children with the future. The students in all socioeconomic levels emphasized the right to education in the context of children's rights, and highlighted different life conditions in the problems experienced.
