City's Perception of University: The Case of Anadolu University and Eskisehir
Abstract
The effects of the universities on their neighborhood and city have today become a popular topic for discussion and study in both administrative and academic circles. Along with the university's inclination towards civic engagement, the city's perception of the university also plays a vital role in the university-city interaction. In this study, the city's perception of university is investigated via the case study of Anadolu University and Eskisehir. The university's contribution to regional equality of opportunities, the socio-cultural effects of the university students on the city, and the university's sociocultural effects as a whole on the city are examined by quantitative and qualitative research methods.
