Petri net modelling of smart home appliances

Abstract

In this work, some smart appliances (i.e., smart refrigerator and smart washing machine) and the corresponding smart home model are introduced to show the importance of smartness to improve user comfort and energy efficiency in homes. Detailed Petri net models of the considered appliances are also given in order to enable a good general view of their operation and integration with the smart home. Moreover, for monitoring and controlling the smart appliances and their integrations to smart home system, a program is prepared by using both Keysight VEE 9.3 and Matlab software
