dc.description.abstractIn recent years, a great demand for learning a foreign language hasbrought out many questions that should be answered. Many foreign language teachers and educators have become aware of the necessity of devoloping learners' target language cultural knowledge. This study focuses upon the devolopment of learners' target language culture. In order to collect data, an experimental study has been carried out at Anadolu University, Education Faculty English Teacher Training Department. In first chapter, the relationship between language and culture, the importance of teaching the target language culture, the problem and the aaim of this study have been presented. In second chapter, the cultural topics which are necessary in FL classes, educational purposes of teaching the target language culture and various teaching methods and technigues are revired. The third chapter includes, the research desing, selection of subjects, data collection and method of analysis. Analysis of the test results with the statistical data, are presented in the fourth chapter. In the fifth chapter, the discussion over the research results, coclusion and some suggestions for further studies related to the teaching of target language culture are presented.en_US
