The investigation of the opinions of mothers of children with hearing loss on their needs and support regarding their children
Specifying the needs and support of families who has a child with hearing loss is needed to enhance the quality of
services offered to them. The aim of this study is to investigate the mothers’ opinions about the needs and support
related to their children with hearing loss. The study is designed as a descriptive case study. The participants of the
study were 11 mothers of children who are the primary caregivers. While 10 of the children had cochlear implant,
one of them had a brainstem implant. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews, the researcher’s
journal and document analysis. Descriptive analysis technique was used for the analysis of the data. Mothers’ needs
related to their children were categorized under the following titles: informational, educational, psychosocial,
financial and anticipated needs. It was also revealed that the families received support from their social circle,
experts, internet, government and other families of children with hearing loss. The mothers mostly expected the
government to raise the financial support. They also adviced other families who have children with hearing loss to
look after these children well and meet their demands. It can be said that the need for information is closely related
with other needs, and when the information need is met, it can fulfill some of the other needs.

Otizm spektrum bozukluğu olan bir çocuğa temel matematik becerilerinin öğretiminde baba eğitim programının etkililiği
Bu çalışmanın amacı baba eğitim programına katılan bir baba tarafından sunulan öğretimin otizm spektrum bozukluğu olan çocuğun temel matematik becerilerini edinmesi üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaç kapsamında çocuğun performansına ilişkin nasıl yoklama alınacağına ve sistematik öğretim ve eşzamanlı ipucuyla öğretim süreçlerine ilişkin bir baba eğitim programı hazırlanmıştır. Eğitimlerden sonra ayrıca babaya çocuğuna öğreteceği ilk iki becerinin öğretiminde model olabilecek video modeller verilmiştir. Uygulama süreci içerisinde ise ilk iki beceri öğretiminde babanın performansına ilişkin araştırmacı tarafından dönüt sağlanmıştır. Davranışlar arası çoklu yoklama modeline göre tasarlanan araştırmanın bulguları, babanın sunduğu eşzamanlı ipucuyla öğretimin çocuğunun temel matematik becerileri öğrenmesinde etkili olduğunu göstermektedir. Babaya sunulan performans dönütü ile uygulama güvenirliğinde artış olduğu görülmüştür. Son beceri öğretiminde ise baba ipucu ve dönüt almadan eşzamanlı ipucuyla öğretim uygulamasını yüksek düzeyde güvenirlikle gerçekleştirmiştir.; The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of training applied by the father attained the parent education program on teaching the basic mathematical skills to the child with autism spectrum disorder. Within the scope of this research, an educational program that includes how to apply probing, systematic instruction, and simultaneous prompt teaching has been prepared. After the training, the father was also watched videos modeling how to instruct the first two skills to teach his child. During the implementation, the feedback was provided to the father related to teaching the first two skills by the researcher. The findings of the research, which was designed according to the multiple-probe design across skills, have shown that the father's simultaneous prompting was effective in learning the basic mathematical skills for his child. It was seen that there was an increase in treatment fidelity with the performance feedback presented to the father. It was observed that the father, without taking a clue and feedback, applied the simultaneous prompting with high reliability in the last skill teaching.

Bu çalışmanın amacı otizm spektrum bozukluğu olan bireylere matematik becerilerinin öğretimini hedefleyen tekdenekli deneysel çalışmaları; (a) Horner ve diğerlerinin 2005 yılında geliştirdikleri “Tek-denekli Deneysel Araştırmaların Niteliksel Göstergeleri” yönergesi açısından değerlendirmek, (b) kapsamlı betimsel analizlerini gerçekleştirmek ve (c) etki büyüklüklerinin hesaplanarak bu uygulamaların bilimsel dayanaklı uygulamalar olup olmadıklarını değerlendirmektir. Bu kapsamında çeşitli veri tabanları taranarak elde edilen 26 çalışmanın analizleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulgular, 10 çalışmanın Horner ve diğerleri tarafından önerilen niteliksel göstergeler kapsamında “kabul edilebilir” düzeyde olduğu yönündedir. “Kabul edilebilir” düzeyde değerlendirilen çalışmaların etki büyüklükleri elde edilmiş ve görsel sunum temelli ve strateji temelli uygulamaların otizmli bireylere çeşitli matematik becerilerinin öğretiminde umut vaat eden uygulamalar olduğu görülmüştür. Elde edilen bilgiler alanyazın dikkate alınarak tartışılmış ve uygulamacılara ve araştırmacılara yönelik birtakım önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The Relationship between the personality traits of prospective teachers and their conflict management styles
Conflict management styles are related to the behaviours the individials show dealing with conflicts. There are different factors effecting individuals’ conflict management styles. Personality traits are one of these main factors. This study aims at determining the effect of personality traits of prospective teachers’ on their conflict management styles. For this aim, mixed research methodology is applied. This is a qantitative research, and designed with corelational surwey method. Qualitative datas are collected with semi-structured interview technique. The sample of the research is 348 prospective teachers studying in Eskişehir Anadolu University in 2015-2016 education year. Qualitative datas are collected from interviews with 24 prospective teachers. In the quantitative part of the research multi-stage sampling is implemented. According to the results of analysis: The relationship between prospective teachers’ personality traits and conflict management styles is generally low. Male participants prefer dominating style in conflict management styles more. Additionally, Neroticism dimension among the personality traits varies according to age and grade. As a result of the interviews carried out with the preservice teachers, it was revealed that a teacher should have extraversion personality characteristic the most and then conscientiousness and openness.
