| dc.description.abstract | Due to the geographical location of Turkey and its special geological, geomorphological and climatic features, Turkish Tabanidae fauna (Insecta: Diptera) have great species richness with 171 known species and 15 subspecies. The main purpose of the study was to contribute to the Tabanidae fauna of Turkey. Specimens were collected from Black Sea Region of Turkey between 2009 and 2015 with Malaise and Nzi traps which were baited with 1-octen-3-ol. As a result of the study, new records for Turkey, Hybomitra arpadi (Szilady, 1923), Hybomitra aterrima (Meigen, 1820), Hybomitra montana (Meigen, 1820) and Hybomitra morgani (Surcouf, 1912), are presented and Hybomitra tanatmisi sp. nov. is described. Distribution, adult and larval habitats and zoogeography of these species are briefly discussed. | en_US |
