An Assessment on Using Design Education as a Model for Acquiring New Skills for New Jobs
Özet
New jobs don't require workers who have skills only based on their graduation background in contradistinction to traditional approaches. European 2020 Employment Strategy is also correlated with the Bologna process mainly aims equipping people with the right skills for the jobs of today and tomorrow. At the near future, new jobs are thought to be configured as multidisciplinary. Therefore knowledge sources from multidisciplinary areas will be multifarious. As a result usage of knowledge from multifarious sources creatively will become harder. Within the Bologna process, it is obviously seen that creative thinking and creative problem solving skills are the significance criteria that defined at almost any education programme. Skill of working multidisciplinary in a creative manner will become the major competence among industry and higher education area. Design education is inherently exemplary area acquiring these skills. Because of having multidisciplinary structure, design education is a profitable practice for education of different professional fields. The aim of this paper is to make an assessment about using courses that develop creativity skills in design education programmes for different professional fields in terms of acquiring new skills for new jobs.
