dc.description.abstractCommon European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) pays great attention to Task-Based Approach, which prepares the student to be a social actor in real life and be integrated to the target country on the basis of his own culture. Therefore, in addition the linguistic elements, the student needs to know the target culture and compare it to his own culture in order to acquire a third culture, i.e. cultural competence. The student, thus, will be ready to accept the "other" and overcome the otherness both linguistically and culturally. By taking both cultures' specific characteristics into account, he will learn to actualize himself in the target language. What's meant by interculturality is the interaction of the cultures. Since the interculturality has started to take place in foreign language teaching studies, our purpose was to analyze two course books that were designed to teach French as a foreign language in accordance with the CEFR aiming to look at the actual place of the Interculturality in them and to define whether those books contribute to the acquisition of intercultural competence or not. For the study, Latitudes (1 and 2) and Alter Ego (1 and 2), which are the most commonly used course books in the preparatory departments of the universities in Turkey for French language teaching, were selected. The analysis was carried out via a batch of 15 questions that provides the answers for our aimen_US
