dc.description.abstract | The present study investigated the relatonship of resilience to self-compassion, social-connectedness and optimism in a sample of low-income university students. Participant consisted of 495 university students those of whom indicated that their family income level were under the sum of two minimum wage. In addition, their parents’ garduation level were up to high school and they grew up with at least four family member in same house. Data were collected by means of Ego Resilience Scale (Block and Kremen, 1996), Self-compassion Scale (Neff, 2003), Social Connectedness Scale (Lee ve Robbins, 1995) and Life Orientation Test (Scheier ve Carver, 1985). In data analysis, Lisrel 8.8 programme was used and structual equation model was conducted. Results showed that self-compassion and social-connectedness directly predicted optimisim and optimism directly predicted psychological resilience.
