A capillary electrophoresis determination of sultamicillin in pharmaceuticals and human serum
Özet
Sultamicillin is a combination of ampicillin and sulbactam antibiotics. This study describes the determination of sultamicillin in pharmaceutical preparations and human serum. The analysis was performed in a fused silica capillary total 88 cm, effective 58 cm length and 75 m ID. An aqueous background buffer containing 20 mM borate at pH 8.1 was used. A good resolution was observed in the electropherogram employing CE parameters; applied voltage of 23 kV, vacuum injection time of 1s and detecting at 200 nm. In the mentioned conditions, the migration times of ampicillin and sulbactam were 9.1 and 14.3 min., respectively. Linear dependence was obtained in the calibration experiments. The Validity and the practicability of the method was tested studying on the pharmaceutical preparations (tablet) and in serum by standard addition method. Interference was not observed. In conclusion, the method developed in this study might be used in routine analysis laboratories. Additionally, it can be employed in the studies of bioavailability and pharmakokinetic.
