Atatürk’e Suikast girişimi: Hacı Sami ve çetesi

Abstract

24 Ağustos 1927 günü Yüzelliliklerden Hacı Sami ve çetesi Cumhurbaşkanı Mustafa Kemal’e, bakanlara ve milletvekillerine suikast düzenlemek amacıyla Kuşadası civarında Anadolu sahillerine çıkmıştı. Madran Yaylası’nda yerel halk ve güvenlik güçleri ile çete arasında çatışma yaşanmış, Hacı Sami ve kardeşi Ahmet öldürülmüş, Abaza Hakkı, Sökeli Mecid ile Düzceli Mecid de yakalanmıştı. Tutukluların İstanbul’daki sorguları sırasında suikast girişiminin ayrıntıları ortaya çıkarılmış, yeni tutuklamalar olmuştu. Sorguları tamamlanan tutuklular idamla yargılanmak üzere Ağır Ceza Mahkemesi’ne sevk edilmişti. Çete üyelerinin Yunan adasından Anadolu’ya geçmeleri Türk kamuoyunda büyük tepki ile karşılanmış, Türk-Yunan dostluğu da tartışmaya açılmıştı. İki gün süren yargılama sonunda çete üyelerinden Hakkı ile Sökeli Mecid ve Düzceli Mecid idam cezasına çarptırılmış ve hükümler 18 Ocak 1928’de infaz edilmişti.

Hadji Sami from YÜzellilikler”(150persona non grata) and his gang had come ashore of Anatolia around Kusadası on 24th August, 1927 in order to organize an assassination attempt towards the President Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the ministers and the deputies. The local people and armed forces clashed with the gang on the Madran upland and Hadji Sami and his brother Ahmet were killed, his friends Abkhasian Hakkı, Mecid from Soke and Mecid from Duzce were captured. The details of the assassination attempt were detected through the interrogation of the arrestees in Istanbul, which resulted in new arrests. Following the interrogations, the arrestees were sent to Heavy Penal Court for capital punishment. In addition, the detection that the members of the gang had transferred to Anatolia from a Greek island caused to a great reaction from Turkish media and the friendship between Turkey and Greece were brought into question. Following the two-day trials, Abkhasian Hakkı, Mecid from Soke and Mecid from Duzce were sentenced to death and it was executed on 18th January, 1928.
