Beyaz Önlüğü Sadece Doktorlar Mı Giyer? Hastane Sınıfı Öğretmenlerinin Hastane Sınıflarına İlişkin Görüşleri

Abstract

Hastalık, yetişkin her bireyde olduğu gibi çocuklar için de karşılaşabilecekleri doğal bir süreçtir. Hastalığın seyrine göre bu süreç uzun sürebilmekte ve çocukların günlük yaşamlarının yanı sıra eğitim-öğretim faaliyetlerini de olumsuz etkileyebilmektedir. Hastanede uzun süreli tedavi gören çocukların hastanede kaldıkları süre içinde eğitim haklarına sahip çıkılması ve bu çocukların eğitim gereksinimlerinin karşılanması büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu gereksinimi karşılamak amacıyla hastane sınıfları kurulmuştur. Bu kapsamda, hastane sınıflarında görev yapan öğretmenlerin yaşadıkları sorunları belirlemenin bu sınıflara gelecek hasta çocukların daha nitelikli eğitim almaları adına mevcut duruma ışık tutacağı ön görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı, hastane sınıflarında görev yapan öğretmenlerin hastane sınıflarında eğitim-öğretim sürecinin nasıl gerçekleştiğine ilişkin görüş ve düşüncelerini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma verileri odak grup görüşmesi ile elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını Eskişehir il merkezinde bulunan iki hastane sınıfında görev yapan toplam dört sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Verilerin analizinde tematik analizden yararlanılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda, hastane sınıfı algısı, hastane sınıfının faydaları, eğitim-öğretim uygulamaları, yaşanan sorunlar ve öneriler temalarına ulaşılmıştır

The disease is a natural process for the children who can be faced as in adults. This process may take longer according to the history of the disease and children's daily life as well as educational activities may also be negatively affected. Children’s education rights protects and supply the educational requirement of these children during their stay in hospital. Hospital classes are established to supply this requirement. In this context, It is foreseen to shed light on the current situation to receive better quality education the children come to this class of patients through knowing the problems faced by teachers working in hospital class. The aim of this study is explained of hospital classroom teachers' opinions and thoughts about the teaching-learning process in hospital class. This research was conducted with qualitative research methods. The data were obtained by the focus group interview. The participant of this study consisted of four teachers who has working at the two hospital class in the central Eskisehir. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. It was reached five theme in the results of the analysis. These themes are hospital class perception, benefits of hospital class, educational applications, experienced problems and suggestions
