Alphonse Daudet'nin Şehirli Kız Adlı Oyununda Karşıtlıklar

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Alphonse Daudet'nin Şehirli Kız adlı oyunundaki karşıtlıklar incelenmektedir. Bir taraftan, sahnede bir kez bile görünmeyen ve tek söz etmeyen Şehirli Kız ile Vivette adındaki köylü bir kız olmak üzere diğer bazı eyleyenler karşılaştırılırken, onların kişiliğinde tüm şehirliler ve köylüler, diğer taraftan da, anlatı örgüsündeki iki uzamdan birini oluşturan ve yine sahnede bir kez olsun gösterilmeyen şehir ile köy, karşılaştırılmaktadır. Oyunda, Şehirli Kız ve şehirliler kurnaz, çekici ve beceriksiz olarak gösterilirken, Vivette ve köylüler saf, temiz ve becerikli olarak gösterilmektedir. Ancak oyunun üzerine kurulduğu Şehirli Kız ve şehirliler için ne söylenirse söylensin, Şehirli Kız'm aşkı, her engelin üstündedir; tüm ailenin yaşamını altüst etmekle kalmaz, Frâderi'nin aklını başından alarak canına kıymasına neden olur.

In this study, controversies in the play The Girl from Aries by Alphonse Daudet are investigated. The comparision of the girl from the town, who never appears on the stage, to the girl from the village, named Vivette, (and to some other characters), is coupled with the comparision of the town and village, the two places of the narrative plot which are never shown on the stage. In the play, the girl from the town and the town dwellers are shown as foxy, charming, and clumsy, whereas Vivette and the villagers are depicted as naive, innocent, and skilful. No matter what is said about the girl from the town, love overcomes every obstacle; this love does not only disturb the life of the whole family but also drives Frederi into insanity and suicide.
