The investigation of dielectric properties of pyrophyllite

Abstract

Pyrophyllite, a clay mineral, is hydrous aluminum silicate which has a chemical formula of Al2Si4O10(OH)(2). Such properties of high dielectric constant (permittivity) and low electrical conductivity make it useful for ceramic and refractory. The objective of the study is to investigate dielectric properties and electrical conductivity of the natural pyrophyllite sample which is obtained from Malatya - Puturge region. The results of the investigation are given to be used for further studies in the ceramic and refractory production.
