Döviz Kurlarındaki Değişim İhracat ve İthalat Hacmini Etkiler mi? 1999-2007 Türkiye Örneği

Abstract

Döviz kurlarındaki değişimin ihracat ve ithalat hacmine etkileri konusunda yurt içinde ve yurt dışında birçok araştırma yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de 1999-2007 dönemi aylık verileri kullanılarak döviz kurlarındaki değişimin ihracat ve ithalat hacmine etkisi incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonunda uzun dönemde döviz kurlarındaki değişim ile ihracat ve ithalat hacmi arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin bulunma-dığı görülmüştür. Varyans ayrıştırmasına göre ihracat serisinde meydana gelen değişimlerin %99,61’i, ithalat serisinde meydana gelen değişimlerin %94,89’i kendileri tarafından açıklanmaktadır.

There are a number of domestic and foreign studies about the effects of changes in exchange rates on the balance of foreign trade. In this study, the effects of changes in exchange rates on exports and imports are investigated by employing monthly data for the period 1999-2007 in Turkey. It was found that there seems to be no significant relation between the changes in Exchange rates and export and import volumes. According to the variance decomposition analysis, %99,61 of the changes in the export series and %94,89 of the changes in the import series appear to be explained by the original series.
