Influence of tire damping on the ride performance potential of quarter-car active suspensions

Abstract

In this paper, performance limitations are studied for a quarter-car active suspension system excited by sinusoidal or random road disturbances. It is demonstrated that the influence of tire damping on the closed-loop performance of the active suspension system can be significant.
