Dlines is a robust and accurate line segment detector that is known to run 11 times faster than the popular (and fastest known) method of LSD, while avoiding necessity of parameter adjustments. In this work, this detector is proposed, briefly explained and discussed for the detection of electric cables that impose significant thread for aircrafts. The proposed method produces a chain of connected pixels and verifies the line behaviour using the Helmhotz principle. Due to the claimed speed and accuracy advantages, EDlines is expected to become a common image processing technique in aircraft imaging applications requiring accurate and fast processingen_US
