Fixed-bed pyrolysis of Daphne (Laurus nobilis L.) seed
Özet
Fixed-bed slow pyrolysis experiments have been conducted on a sample of daphne seed to determine the effects of pyrolysis temperature, particle size, and heating rate on the pyrolysis product yields and chemical compositions. The maximum oil yield of 34.4% was obtained at the final pyrolysis temperature of 500degrees C, particle size range of +0.425-0.85 mm, with a heating rate of 20degrees C min(-1) in a fixed-bed reactor. Some chromatographic and spectroscopic studies on the oil showed that the oil obtained from daphne seed can be used as a renewable fuel and chemical feedstock.
