Havayolu işletmelerinin performansının tobin q oranı ile ölçülmesi

Abstract

Bu çalısmada havayolu isletmelerinin performansı Tobin q oranı kullanılarak arastırılmıstır. Tobin q oranı isletme performansının ölçülmesinde önemli ve yaygın kullanılan bir yöntemdir. Yoğun rekabetin olduğu hava yolu tasımacılığı çesitli faktörlerden etkilenen bir sektördür. Havayolu isletmeleri rekabetten korunmak amacıyla diğer havayolu isletmeleriyle ittifak kurmaktadır. Star Alliance ittifakına üye 14 isletmenin 2005-2007 dönemi performansı Tobin q oranı ve diğer finansal oranlar kullanılarak incelenmistir. Bu isletmelerin büyük bir çoğunluğunun q oranı düsük çıkmıstır. İttifak içinde yer alan Asya- Pasifik bölgesi isletmelerinin performansının diğer bölge isletmelerine göre daha iyi durumda olduğu görülmektedir.

The study examines the performance of airlines using Tobin q, which is an important and widelyused method in the measurement of corporate performance. Air transport is one of the various sectors in which there is fierce competition. In order to protect themselves against such an intense competition, airline build alliances with the others in the sector. The performance of 14 airlines between 2005-2007 which are currently members of Star Alliance were examined using Tobin q and other financial ratios, most of whose rates turned out to be low. Besides, those from Asia-Pacific region in the alliance had good performance compared with the airlines from the other regions.
