dc.description.abstract | Social validity of intelligence tests has not become a subject of research though intelligence is a social construct. Its measurement by any instruments has not been socially investigated. in this study, the social validity of the Anadolu-Sak Intelligence Scale (ASIS) was investigated. the study involved testers' perceptions of the use of ASIS and its psychometric properties. the ASIS Practitioner Evaluation Form was used to collect data from the participants. the instrument, with a 6-point Likert scale, was composed of 40 items related to the efficiency of measuring intelligence and its components, practicality of use (administration, scoring, and interpretation), simplicity, and preference of testers. the participants included 37 testers who administered the ASIS to children during the norming study. A descriptive analysis was carried out to explore the level of participants' perceptions or satisfaction about each social validity item. the overall mean was found to be 5,26/6. This value shows a very high level of social validity. This study is the first of its kind in measuring the social validity of an intelligence test. | en_US |
