The Reflection of Patchwork on the Art of Ceramics: an Example By Zoe Hillyard
Özet
Patchwork is the method of assembling pieces of fabric by sewing to use it as clothing or daily usage material the method of assembling small fabric pieces to make a bigger cloth has been named by almost every society differently. With the inclusion of patchwork into Daily life in Europe in 13th century, various techniques and patterns were produced and design and visuality have come to the foreground. This method, which has approximately 5000 years of historical background, has been used in various fields today and has become a way of inspiration for many artists. It has also become widespread in plastic arts. It has been used in the art of ceramics in various ways through interdisciplinary interactions. The use of patchwork technique as an element of decoration in the art of ceramics is going to be dealt with the example of Artist Zoe Hillyard.
