11 Eylül Saldırısının Türkiye Yazılı Basınındaki Sunumu

Abstract

ABD’ye karşı gerçekleştirilen "11 Eylül" saldırısının Türkiye’deki yazılı basın ortamındaki temsiliyeti bu çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Yazılı basını temsilen seçilen Cumhuriyet, Evrensel, Milliyet, Türkiye, Yeni Şafak ve Akit gazetelerinin saldırı sonrasındaki bir haftalık süre boyunca, ön sayfalarında yer verdiği haberler ve başyazılar içerik analizi yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda, incelenen gazetelerin benimsedikleri ideolojik arka plana dayalı olarak tutum geliştirdikleri gözlemlenmiştir. Evrensel ve Akit gazetesi, kısmen de Yeni Şafak dışındaki, merkeze yakın duran gazeteler (Milliyet, Cumhuriyet ve Türkiye) egemen ideolojinin benimsenmesi ve/veya bu ideolojinin devamı yönünde konuya yaklaşmışlardır.

The subject of this study is the representation of “11ᵗʰ September" attack to the USA on the written press atmosphere in Turkey. The news and the editorials which were published after the attack during a period of week on the front pages of the newspapers Cumhuriyet, Evrensel, Milliyet, Türkiye, Yeni Şafak and Akit chosen to represent the written press were analysed with the method of content analysis. As a result of the obtained findings, it was observed that, the newspapers had an attitude towards the event based on their ideological backgrounds. The papers that trend on the center of the political scale, such as Milliyet, Cumhuriyet and Türkiye (except for Evrensel, Akit and at some level Yeni Şafak) have introduced the event as the adoption of the hegemonic ideology of the USA and its continuity.
