Solar radiation modeling is an important issue for renewable energyengineering based problems. In this study, a novel solar radiation model isproposed. The model inputs are the solar radiation data belonging to first fourhours after sun-rise of each day of the year and the sun rise hour, whereas, theoutputs are the Fourier series coefficients of the solar radiation waveformthat belongs to the whole day. Consequently, it is possible to recover the databelonging to the whole day from these coefficients. Therefore, the proposedscheme constitutes a prediction model for the behavior of the data in any dayusing its initial data. The accuracy and performance of the model is tested andpresented.
