Ortaöğretim Alan Öğretmenliği Tezsiz Yüksek Lisans Programına Devam Eden Öğretmen Adaylarının Umutsuzluk Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, ortaöğretim alan öğretmenliği dalında tezsiz yüksek lisans programına devam eden öğretmen adaylarının umutsuzluk düzeyleri ile, umutsuzluk düzeylerinin bazı kişisel değişkenler açısından farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmaya tezsiz yüksek lisans programının son dönemine devam eden 71 öğretmen adayı katılmış olup, verilerin toplanmasında Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği ve Bilgi Anketi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Mann-Whitney U Testi’nden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları, öğretmen adaylarının genel olarak umutsuzluk düzeylerinin düşük olmasıyla birlikte, bazı öğretmen adaylarının yoğun umutsuzluk yaşadıklarını ve erkeklerin kızlara göre daha yüksek umutsuzluk düzeyine sahip olduklarını göstermektedir. Araştırmanın diğer bulguları ise, mezun olduğunda öğretmenlik mesleği ile ilgili bir iş bulamayacağı beklentisi taşıyanların, bulacağı beklentisi taşıyanlara göre daha yüksek umutsuzluk düzeyine sahip olduklarını ortaya koymaktadır.

Investigation of Hopelessness Levels of Prospective Teachers Attending Non-thesis Master Programs: In this study, it was aimed to determine the hopelessness levels of the prospective teachers attending two different non-thesis master program and whether or not their hopelessness levels differed according to some personal variables. This study was conducted with 71 prospective teachers attending to the last semester of the program. The data were collected by Beck Hopelessness Scale and Information Questionnaire, and analyzed by Mann-Whitney U Test. The findings of the study showed that the hopelessness levels of prospective teachers were generally low, but some prospective teachers experienced severe hopelessness levels. It was also found that males demonstrated significantly higher hopelessness level than females. Furthermore, the ones not believing to find a job related with teaching profession when they graduate from the program had higher levels of hopelessness than those believing.
