Tastrominin Farmakolojik Etkileri: Eski Bir Bileşiğe Yeni Bir Değerlendirme

Abstract

Tastromin, sempatik sistem üzerindeki etkileri nedeniyle geçmişte incelenmiş olan eski bir bileşiktir. Sempatik sistem üzerindeki etkileri eskiden beri bilinmesine karşın, son yıllarda sempatik sistem reseptörleri konusundaki gelişmeler gözönüne alındığında, tastromin’in söz konusu bu reseptörler üzerindeki etkilerinin spesifitesi belli değildir. Laboratuvarımızda gerçekleştirilen çeşitli çalışmalar ile tastromin’in farmakolojik etkileri araştırılmıştır. Bu kısa derleme yazısında, günümüzde herhangi bir terapötik kullanımı olmayan tastromin’in farmakolojik özellikleri yapısal yönden benzeyen diğer bileşikler ile karşılaştırılarak ele alınmaktadır.

Tastromine is an old compound which had been investigated for its effects on sympathetic nervous system. Taking into account recent developments in the knowledge of sympathetic system receptors, the specificty of tastromine on these receptors has not been established, although its effects on sympathetic system have been known for a long time. Pharmacological effects of tastromine have been investigated by performing various experimental models in our laboratory. In this short review, pharmacological properties of tastromine, which has no therapeutic use for today, are evaluated by comparing to other compounds which possess similar structures.
